Field Visit to the Teachers and Employees’ Protest Camp in Sulaymaniyah
Today, the U.S. Global Human Rights Organization – Kurdistan Branch / Sulaymaniyah visited the protest camp of Kurdish teachers and employees who have been staging a sit-in in front of the United Nations building in Sulaymaniyah. The protesters have now entered their sixth day of a hunger strike, refusing to eat, which has severely impacted their health and put them in a critical condition.

Health Condition of the Protesters:
• Medical teams are continuously monitoring their health and conducting necessary check-ups.
• Some protesters have been rushed to the hospital due to the deterioration of their condition, yet the authorities have shown no response or concern.

Negligence by Regional Authorities:
• The Kurdistan Regional Government has so far taken no steps to resolve the crisis or respond to the protesters’ demands.
• Officials have completely ignored their responsibility toward the teachers and employees who are simply demanding their rights.
• Instead of addressing the crisis, regional leaders remain focused on political disputes and economic interests, disregarding the suffering of the protesters.
Actions Taken by the U.S. Global Human Rights Organization:
• The U.S. Global Human Rights Organization is closely monitoring the situation and the harsh conditions faced by the protesters.
• A formal report will be submitted to the U.S. administration and President Donald Trump, highlighting the protesters’ plight, their unpaid salaries, and the regional government’s negligence.
• The organization urges immediate action to resolve this crisis and secure a swift solution for the protesters.
Acknowledgment and Appreciation:
• Special thanks to Dr. Khalid Hamawand, President of the U.S. Global Human Rights Organization – Arizona, for his continuous efforts and support.
• Gratitude also goes to Dr. Saeed Salah Bakhcheyi, President of the U.S. Global Human Rights Organization – Kurdistan Branch, for his dedication in conveying the protesters’ situation to the relevant authorities in the U.S.

Signed,
Bayan Ibrahim
